Yamachiku is a chopstick maker based in a town called Nankan in Kumamoto, Japan that specialises in making bamboo chopsticks. In present days, bamboo trees have become rather harmful to the farm lands and the mountains in Japan because of their incredible vitality (they grow really fast). That’s why we want to utilize the resource and reduce the damages to our living environment. While Japan is rich in bamboos, the number of domestic makers that produce bamboo chopsticks is decreasing. We proudly cut the bamboos from the local mountains one by one to produce our bamboo chopsticks.
Historically, bamboos have been used for baskets and various tools including farming tools. Nowadays, the material is reevaluated as a natural equivalent to carbon. Bamboo chopsticks are light, easy-to-use, and durable. Try our bamboo chopsticks and you will love them!
